Turning 40 in Maine | My Cozy Coastal Birthday Trip
Share
I could’ve gone anywhere for my 40th birthday… and I chose Kennebunkport, Maine.
The last time I was here, I was fifteen, traveling with my parents.. and I always knew I’d come back someday.
So this year, I finally did.

Traveling from Southern California to Maine for a week isn't exactly easy (especially as a mother of 2). There's schedule coordination, taking time off work, planning, childcare, and so much more that goes into it.. so I knew there would be no great opportunity to come here than there would be for my 40th with my hubby. I would have love to have brought our girls with us but antique shopping, boutique shopping and walking endlessly doesn't usually interest 5 and 6 year olds. Although I miss them dearly!

Below, is my video recap of some of my time in Kennebunkport with some honorable mentions in the pictures below.
Honarable mentions not included in the video above:
Dannah For Men | Kennebunkport
One of the first things I told my husband is-- "You probably aren't going to find any cool men's clothing in Kennebunkport"... Boy was I wrong. We walked into Dannah For Men on day 2 and were pleasantly surprised with their collection of wallets, watches, hats, belts, and sunglasses. My pictures don't do this place justice- you'll have to go and visit it for yourself.

The White Barn Inn | Kennebunkport
I'm sure you don't need me to confirm to you that a AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five Star endorsed restaurant deserves a visit.. yet, here we are. We sat at the bar like the peasants that we are and enjoyed the most wonderful desserts and cocktail. The atmosphere was incredible- I only snapped a shot of my desert because I wanted to take it all in with my eyes and stay present.

Seacraft Vintage | Kennebunkport
This is what all boutiques in Maine should look like, in my opinion. This shop was by far the most perfectly curated Southern Maine 🦞 boutique I walked into.. And I walked into DOZENS. In Portland, ME, too. If you are a lover of all things coastal, lobster and vintage.. this is your shop. I wanted to spend my life savings here but I refrained.

The Lost Fire Grill | Kennebunkport
As a second-generation immigrant from Rosario Argentina, I had to check this place out for myself. And again- I didn't take food pics cause I was enjoying my time with my husband over a lovely dinner. Don't worry- we had our fill of oysters, lobster rolls and seafood. A fancy steak dinner just had to make it onto my list.
The Lost Fire Grill did not dissapoint. I ordered the filet and my husband ordered the new york strip and it was incredible. Their chimichurri even passed my test. And we all know I make damn good chimi. The customer service was lovely and the atmosphere was great. My only feedback is I think they should kick it up an extra notch and play Argentine tango instead of pop favorites. But that's just my crotchety 40 year old self talkin'.
