My First Few Days in Maine: Slowing Down to Catch Up With Myself
Share
There’s something about crossing the state line into Maine that immediately makes you breathe deeper. The air smells like pine and saltwater, and time seems to stretch a little wider.. enough for your thoughts to finally catch up with you.
I’ve only been here a few days, but already, this place feels like an exhale.
The mornings start quietly here in Kennebunkport, Maine.
The kind of quiet that feels alive .. birds in the distance, the soft hum of wind through trees, and maybe the faintest crackle of someone’s fireplace a few houses away.
I’ve been making my coffee (EveryDay Dose to be exact) slowly, no rush, letting the steam rise while I watch the light shift across my tiny kitchen table.

Each day so far has felt a little like a reset button.
Walks by the Goose Rocks Beach collecting seashells. Fresh local lobster dinners. A frosty Narragansett Beer... The kind of small, simple pleasures that remind me who I am when everything else gets too loud.

There’s something I love about Maine’s simplicity.
The unpolished beauty... the locals who greet you like you’ve been here forever, and the endless coastline that makes you feel both tiny and infinite at the same time.
For example, a friendly local recommended that I go to Nunan's Lobster Hut as an alternative to some other staples I had picked out based on YouTube vlogs and Blog reviews. I'm so glad I changed my plans. The lobster was incredible, and the atmosphere was perfectly and authentically Maine 🦞.

I came here craving space and clarity.. and I’ve found it in more ways than I expected. These first few days have been a reminder that growth doesn’t always happen in motion; sometimes it happens in stillness.

Here’s to slow mornings, ocean air, and starting my 40th year with a full heart.
More to come in the following days!
Xoxo,
